Geo Cache with Ry & Ash

This afternoon Ryan and Ashley took Kevin, Tanner and Cooper on their latest adventure hobby - GeoCaching. The concept is that people from all over hide small caches of items all over the country and you can get online and get the coordinates of these caches - with a handheld GPS device you can travel around and find them. Most of them have logs to write the date you found it along with your name. Some of them contain small items - you can exchange items if you wish. This was a good proof of concept and hopefully will soon be branching out to caches further aways.

The hunt is on! The first stop was the double church building near Costco.

This first trip ended in moderate success - no cache found, but Tanner said he found a "treasure" rock.

Success! The second trip was to the UVU Wolverine, which contained a "micro" cache.

It's uber teeny!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Grandpa's birthday was on saturday. Happy Birthday Grandpa! We love you!

The Planetarium

On Saturday we went to the Planetarium and saw a movie in the super dome. When we got out of the movie they had an "anti-gravity" machine out. They were letting the kids see how it would be to walk on the moon. Tanner was the only one that would try it. He said it was really fun.

Embassy Suites

Friday afternoon we decided to go to Salt Lake for the night. It was Spring Break and the kids wanted to go somewhere fun. We went to Embassy Suites with the MacDonald's. The kids went swimming and got to watch a movie together. It was so fun to get away.

Shoe shopping wtih Ryan

Tanner needed some new shoes and Ryan & Ashley stopped by just in time. We all went to the store, and they were having a sale. Tanner & Cooper both got new shoes. The best part of shopping with Ryan, is that he loves to play with the nylons. Both boys walked around the store with nylons on their heads. They took them home and we thought they were ready to rob a bank. Tanner & Cooper with their new shoes.

The Scoring Machine

Tanner is doing amazingly well in soccer. Grandpa Smith took him to his game on Tuesday and he scored 3 more goals. He was so excited he called me in San Francisco at half time. Saturday he scored another 2 goals and his running total is up to 7. He likes to count his goals together instead of by each game. He is doing so awesome. He is sad that he only has 3 games left.

The San Francisco Treat

My San Francisco trip was absolutely amazing. I flew out with Kevin on monday, and I started shopping right away. We stayed at the San Francisco Marriott which was right next to Union Square. They had the biggest Old Navy I've every been to. Kevin and I went to Morton's for dinner. We had steak and amazing crab cakes. I was going to sleep in on Tuesday, but Kevin woke me up and made me go to breakfast with him. After I took a morning nap, it was back to shopping. We met Kevin's project manager for dinner, and we went to an amazing sushi place. I say that because I do not like sushi at all but this stuff was pretty good. Wednesday I took the cable car to Ghiradelli Square, and I went to Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. After shopping for a while I went to go see the Olympic Torch. I walked all the way down to Pier 29 and waited for 2 hours among many Tibet protestors. That was an experience. Finally I left when the protestors started laying in the street. That night Kevin and I met my cousin, Sarah at Pier 39. We ate at The Crab House. It was really good crab and a fun experience. Thursday I got a massage and then Kevin and I shopped for a while before we returned home. It was such a fun and relaxing vacation. Sarah met us at Pier 39 and we ate at the Crab House.

Super Heroes are the Best!

Cooper and Tanner love to play Super Heroes. They got all dressed up and went outside to "fight the bad guys". I am so glad I have these BIG, STRONG boys! Showing off their muscles.
Showing their "super" cool moves.
Wolverine and Captain America.

California here I come...

Kevin surprised me and is flying me out to San Francisco to stay with him next week. I am so excited. I am hoping for a very nice and relaxing couple of days. I will let you know how it goes.

WAY TO GO TANNER!

Tanner scored his first goal ever tonight! He did awesome. It was freezing outside and we almost didn't go. Grandpa, Tanner and I went to game anyway. There were only four kids on his team at the game, so Tanner had to play the whole game. He was doing such a great job. When the other team had the ball he would run and block the goal. He actually kept the other team from scoring a couple times. Anyway, he was running the ball down and there was a big kid on the other team running with him. I thought for sure that Tanner would just give up to stay away from the other player. He was very persistant and ran it down and scored. I was screaming my guts out. I could not believe he finally scored. He has wanted to score a goal all year. Anyway, he ended up scoring twice, and they were the only two goals that his team got. I was so proud of Tanner. Way to go Tanner!
